Located on the Old Threshers Grounds, on the south side, in Log Village. Relocated here from near Donnellson. Built about 1840, it is a log school. However, the roof was leaking, causing a section of the walls to deteriorate, so in 2010 it was repaired and covered with walnut siding. So in this photo it looks like a new building, but it is really just an old one covered for protection.

Thanks for posting this photo. My GGG Grandfather, Michael Ott, donated the land this school was originally built on near Donnellson. Great to know it is still being cared for and part of the Old Threshers Grounds.
ReplyDeleteHi Sean,
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome.
The whole idea of collecting photos of these schools is to preserve a piece of history - some we have photographed are already gone.
It is always a joy to hear from people who have connections to these schools.
