Tusha School

Used from 1878 to 1939.  Originally south of Winterset, but moved in 1991 to the Madison County Historical Complex in town.  Preserved.

  1. I just found your blog. I am glad to see individuals doing something to save the life of these schools. See the FB page "The Rural Schools of Madison County, Iowa." I am researching the schools in the county. I call the log cabin school the McDonald school as it sat on the property of a man with that name until moved to the Madison County Historical Complex. The log school, Tusha and North River all managed by the Historical Society.
