ReplyDeleteHi Lady Chal,
ReplyDeleteThank you for that bit of information!
Would you by any chance know if the house on the NE corner of U.S. 30 and Honey Grove (west end of the loop) is the old Honey Grove school?
The one a bit buried behind the overgrown trees? Yes.I am pretty certain that is Honey Grove. Putnam Township has fared better than most. Four of their six schools are still intact as residences. Union is actually quite lovely, and Center #3 is still pretty well kept.
DeleteActually, I was provided an old plat map showing the location of Honey Grove, and it was well south of current US30, and by using the Google Satellite imaging I found nothing at the site, so Honey Grove was either moved elsewhere or destroyed.
ReplyDeleteI like the guy peaking around the corner at you in the last pic.
ReplyDeleteGrumpybb,,
ReplyDeleteWe get that a lot. Often they will actually ask what we are up to (I don't remember if this guy did or not) and we tell them and give them a card with a link to this site. Some will even invite us in to see what they've preserved inside.
